Mr. A.F.M. Sarwar Kamal, former Secretary General, IJSG visited Zhenze, China to attend the “Symposium on the Development of Bast Fibre Industry” in October 2006. 

The IJSG Secretariat participated in the International Symposium on Kenaf and Allied Fibres 2007 under the theme “Renewable Resources for a New Industry”  held in Xiamen, China on 19-21 June 2007 as a Golden Fibre Partner. A number of papers were presented in the Symposium, apart from two papers from IJSG to address the problems of the natural fibre sectors through cooperation and concerted efforts by the stakeholders and place these in a better & stronger position.

Mr. Md. Faruque Hossain, Finance and Administrative Officer, IJSG visited Changsha, China to attend the 50th anniversary celebration of the Institute of Bast Fibre Crops (IBFC) and Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS) in November 2008.

Mr. Md. Faruque Hossain, Finance and Administrative Officer, IJSG visited Fujihan & Xiamen, China to see about the project entitled “Increased Production Efficiency in Small-Holder Kenaf Production System for Specific Industrial Applications (CFC/IJSG/25)” in August 2009.

Dr. Latifa Binte Lutfar, Operations Officer, IJSG visited Changsha, China to attend the second annual review/co-ordination and planning meeting of the project entitled “Increased Production Efficiency in Small-Holder Kenaf Production System for Specific Industrial Applications (CFC/IJSG/25)” in October 2010.
