a.       Climate: Tropical monsoon with wide topographic-induced variation

                                                             ii.      Permanent crops: 1.01%

                                                            iii.      Pastures: 200 000 km2

                                                           iv.      Other: 85.8%

                                                             v.      Irrigated land: 2,900 sq. km.

 

d.      Major Agricultural commodities: Cereals, pulses, coffee, oilseed, cotton, sugarcane, potatoes, khat, cut flowers; hides, cattle, sheep, goats; fish

 Food processing, textiles, leather, coffee industries, cigarettes, footwear, tea export etc

       Evironmental Information & data

 

                                     i.        Air pollution: 41.67%

                                     ii.        Ethiopia banned the import of plastic bags, as part of the national green growth initiative, in November 2011

                                    iii.        The ban will also include the manufacture of plastic bags within the country. Ethiopia is amongst the first African countries to implement this ban.
